In a WARN notice received Wednesday, WestRock announced that the company is closing the container manufacturing factory based in Somerset.

The company will cease operations in the factory at 400 Chandler Street and severance all 24 employees of the plant on or around Sept. 30.

The closure of the South Kentucky plant will leave WestRock with five other locations in Kentucky, including establishments in Nicholasville and Lexington.
The WestRock company announced its results for the 3rd financial end on 30 June 2020. The net revenue of 4.2 billion was reduced by 9.7% compared to the previous year.

0.69 dollars per share of dilution stocks and 0.76 dollars of adjustments per share of dilution in comparison with 0.98 dollars of income per dilute stocks and 1.11 dollars of income adjustment per share diluted in the first quarter years; Sequential increase from 0.57 dollars per share of dilution stocks and 0.67 dollars of income adjusted per stock diluted in the 2nd quarter.

A group of staff at the WestRock factory in Demopolis was recognized for their efforts to create a safer work environment.

The paper and Pulp Safety Association, consisting of members of paper factories across the country, recently recognized the safety committee of the Demopolis WestRock plant on the development of the valve labeling system. The organization’s team/annual Safety Committee honors a committee or paper and pulp industry group that has made significant contributions to safety and health in their location, company or industry.

“WestRock-Demopolis has designed a new process to minimize risk to people through the valve labeling system,” the announcement from PPSA is clearly stated. “Valve labels have special color codes based on their respective products, such as water and hazardous materials, and are engraved with product information and the number of units in accordance with the documentation for a safety inspection. Color-coded labels on each valve allow employees to identify easily and quickly specific types of products, helping to raise awareness and knowledge of all valves, especially if dangerous.
